Steal her Style: Rachel Green

'Steal her Style' posts have always been one of my most popular posts read by you wonderful readers. I haven't written one of these posts in a long long time but whilst watching Friends recently I remembered just how fashionable the character Rachel has been over the ten series. One of my first 'Steal her Style' posts was actually of Jennifer Aniston which you can read here.

This first outfit I really love and is one of my favourites that I've seen throughout the show, I'm also getting into wearing skirts a lot more now than I use to and I really want this one to add to my collection. I was quite surprised at just how near a match I could find to the one worn by Rachel, well done Topshop!

1.
Skirt, Topshop

This second outfit is from later in the series when Rachel is clearly a lot more into fashion and is in one of her work outfits. I personally love work wear and 'dressing up' and think this is another great outfit. Over the knee boots are in at the minute so I chose to include these in this post, by Public Desire who are making too many good shoes at the minute I just can't.

Which outfit is your favourite?

Dorothy Perkins New Season Wish List

Dorothy Perkins are currently offering up to 30% off their new season items and I just had to show you some of my favourite pieces they have. I like how they still have some floral and summery pieces in this collection but are also adding in some of the more autumn colours, I love the deep purples and reds that we get to wear and see everywhere during autumn and winter.

My favourites are the navy dress and the purple top, what are yours?

Public Desire Wishlist

It's been quite a while now since I've posted a wish list and Public Desire are a brand which I've definitely been lusting after for so long now. Although I'm still yet to make a purchase from the lovely Public Desire, I'm sure this little wishlist is going to persuade me to go ahead and do it at last - especially those boots!

Alana White Block Heeled Sandal

Kylie Platform Sandals

Rosa Block Heel Sandal

Melody Buckle Flat Shoes

The boots and the block heel sandals are my favourite two, what are yours?

Primark Haul - Spring 2015

A couple of weeks ago now I popped into Primark to see their Spring collection. I'd watched a lot of Primark hauls before (and after) going and saw they have so many nice things at the moment. Although in the store I went to it wasn't as good as I'd hoped because it's only a small store in a town, but I did manage to pick up a few things which I liked so I thought I'd share them with you.

This jumper is the first thing I picked up from these and I have to say I think it has to be the cosiest jumper I own. I did buy it in two sizes too big for me, not only because who doesn't love a baggy jumper? But also because it was in the sale for just £3 and it was the smallest size I could find, and I just couldn't leave without it. Next up is this black vest top with a scalloped edge all the way around with the shape of flowers cut out from each 'scallop' shape. I remember when these scallop vests came into fashion quite a few years ago now and I never managed to get my hands on one, then I think they just disappeared, or maybe I've just not seen any around but I really love this style and thought it'd be great for the spring/summer weather. I actually went into Primark looking for this blouse (as well as other things I didn't manage to find) and this is the only colour I could find it in although I was originally after it in white but nevertheless I actually really love this colour, it's a kind of mint green and quite sheer. I like the zip detail on the front and how it could either be worn just as a blouse or with the zip undone and a bandeau or vest underneath. The final item I purchased from Primark was this gorgeous black hand bag. I've been in the need for a hand bag as the one I'm currently using is getting a bit knackered and when I saw that it was just £12 and looked so much more expensive I just had to buy it. I have however since then had to return the bag as there was a problem with the zip, I'm not sure if it's the kind of zip they used with this bag as it was rough and hard to open and close or whether it was just the one I picked up.

Have you managed to find any great pieces for Spring lately?

Pinterest Post #4 - Jewellery

Back for another post on the wonderful world of pinterest, this time I've picked out my 5 favourite pins from my jewellery board.  I'm always on the look out for some nice rings but I'm yet to find any that really stand out to me, each time I'm in a shop and see the jewellery collection I can't help but go over and have a peak! Here are some of the pieces I've been lusting over online recently.

Origami Crane Earrings - Although I own quite a lot of earrings, I think it's fair to say that these would stand out a mile from the any I own. I think these are incredible, I can't imagine having the patience to hand-make these, they must have been so fiddly - but worth it.

Rose Gold Initial Bracelet - I never tend to wear many bracelets, I own a couple of charm bracelets which I do like to wear but I'm never brave enough to wear them out and about through the fear of losing them. It doesn't matter what size I get, for some reason they tend to always slip off my wrist and over my hand. This bracelet is so cute, especially with the initial and I particularly love that it's rose gold.

Art Deco Ring - I bet this ring caught your eye didn't it? (Top Left) I think it's probably the most beautiful ring I've ever seen! Those blue tones with the silver ring are magnificent, we all wish we had a ring like this now, right?

Gold, Pink and Grey Crystal Quartz Ring - I use to collect different kinds of gems and stones when I was younger and this ring reminded me of those. Putting them into a ring is a brilliant idea, I'd love to try this but I wouldn't know where to start with making my own. The chosen pink and grey crystals in this ring match perfectly too.

Dinosaur Ring - I don't know what it is but I've always been a fan of dinosaurs. From watching tv shows like walking with dinosaurs and then onto Primeval growing up (although it's not really just about dinosaurs) I've always really liked them. So this ring was no doubt going to be in my top 5 picks, I even own at least two pairs of dinosaur socks, I just think they're amazing - maybe even roar-some? Too far?

Pinterest Post #2 - Fashion

So here, as promised is the first of the pinterest board posts! This week I've chosen to focus on fashion, I think fashion must be one of the most popular things searched for on pinterest (second to food most probably) and it's filled with so much inspiration for all times of the year and there's something for everyone's style. You can see what else is on my fashion board here, whilst I've chosen five of my favourites to show you below.

White Shirt and Blue Jeans - Such a simple look but I love wearing shirts and this outfit has made me want a really crisp white shirt that I could wear to work with black skinny jeans.

Jumper and Collar - As I just mentioned I love wearing shirts, at the minute I can't get enough of pairing them with jumpers, the polka dot blue on the white shirt really stands out even with a jumper, and look at how cute that broach is too!

Leopard Print Blouse and Black Skinny Jeans - This outfit reminds me of summer and I 'm already looking forward to being able to dress in nice smart clothes for work and not need to lug around a big coat and scarf with me.

Tutu Skirt - This skirt is so cute, I have no idea what occasion I'd wear it for or what with but we can all still dream of wearing pretty tutus everyday can't we?

Monochrome Dog-Tooth Dress and Red Coat - My next coat needs to be a nice long red coat. I think this can brighten up any winter, especially the dull English ones we seem to have.

What's your fashion inspiration at the moment?

Pinterest Post #1 - An Introduction

Introducing you to another one of my little spaces on the internet - Pinterest! Although I've had this pinterest account for a while, I never really used it much other than to pin photos from my blog onto my blog board. Don't get me wrong, I love pinterest and pinning but as I already had a pinterest account (which you can see here) for my work and those related boards I never really used this one - until now...

Now I am completely addicted to 'pinning' pretty much everything, from fashion and make-up to home inspiration to food, food and more food. So, I have decided that every week (hopefully) I'll be posting a mid-week post on a different one of my pinterest boards starting with Fashion next week! Choosing around 5 of my favourite pins from each board and writing a little bit about them.

You can have a look at all of my boards here and feel free to 'follow' my boards and account and leave yours in the comments below - I'd love to have a look at what you've been 'pinning'.

Christmas 2014

How is Christmas pretty much over for another year already? Rather than having a few different posts like last year on Christmas I thought I'd do a big Christmassy round up all in one post for you. The above pictures are from Lincoln Christmas market which I visited earlier this month with one of my friends, it was such a nice weekend and the market had so many cute gifts (and of course some lovely mulled wine) it really got me into the Christmas spirit.

Christmas day was wonderful as always and my brother took a turn to make Christmas dinner for the first time and it was pretty amazing too! Below are some of the Christmas presents I received, all of which I am very grateful for and I can't wait to start using them.

I noticed a lot of people talking about the post-Christmas walks they went on on boxing day this year, although we didn't get chance to go on one on boxing day, we did go for a walk yesterday instead. It was very cold but so worth it after being able to take some photographs of some of the beautiful swans and ducks we saw.

I hope you all had a fab Christmas and wish you all a very happy new year!

Mango Wishlist

I've been super busy lately and been meaning to post one of my many drafts for so long! I hate not being able to sit and write and update my blog so this weekend I'll hopefully be able to make time to do just that. As most of you probably know by now, I like to write a different 'wishlist' post each month with a different 'theme' or place so this months is my Mango Wishlist. I haven't shopped at Mango a lot but when I have I've been really pleased with what I've bought and to be honest it isn't a place I often think of shopping but when I had a little rummage through their website the other day I just had to share with you some of my favourite pieces!

I think the scarf has to be my favourite, what's yours?

Megan's Beaded Designs

Not too long ago I was contacted by Megan (from Megan's beaded designs) to collaborate with her in some way. After looking at her website (here) I saw what beautiful pieces she creates, from jewelry to hair pieces, and was really interested in her work!

Megan picked up jewelry making from her grandfather when she was about 5 years old, and has been creating things with beads ever since. Due to Megan also having a quiet personality (similar to myself), she likes to dress up and wear jewelry that helps her express herself when words are hard to come by, which I think is a great way to show off your personality! Megan went to college for art and received her degree in graphic design, which she is able to apply to her jewelry designing and creation process - and also by having designed such a wonderful website which is easy to look around and find everything you are looking for and more.

Here are a couple of my favourite pieces by Megan....

I love these little earrings - the fact that they are black and grey means they go with almost every outfit, and the beads are a lovely detail which I don't think you see too often and how we know they are hand-made by Megan herself makes them a little bit more special too.

These owl earrings are so cute, the purple eyes really stood out to me and I just had to have them!

All of Megan's pieces are originally designed and created by hand from within her studio in Spokane, Washington, USA. And as she ships worldwide, what are you waiting for?

To be among the first to hear about new pieces, get style inspiration, and receive exclusive deals you can sign up for e-mail updates here.

Autumn Wishlist

Today being the first day of autumn, what other day would be better to show you my Autumn Wishlist?! (I honestly didn't even plan this to go up today - spooky!) Autumn and winter are my all time favourite times of year, snuggling up on the sofa with a hot chocolate or sitting by the fire, watching the fireworks and watching Christmas films, going Christmas shopping - What's not to love?!

Barry M Gelly Nail Paints (Autumn Colours)

Those autumn shades by Barry M teamed with the boots, 2-in-1 jumper and jeans would be perfect together for this time of year! What are your autumn must-haves?

The Beautiful Blog Award // One Year Blogiversary

As some of you may already know as today is my first blogging anniversary (wooo!) I was originally going to do my giveaway today but because of the prizes not being here yet, I wanted to make sure they were here and so I can photograph them first etc. So that will be up some point this week or next week!

But, as it's a special day for my blog I wanted to still upload a post today anyway so what a better day is there to upload my post for the 'Beautiful Blog Award'?!

I was kindly nominated for this award by Tania who's blog you can find here

Rules:
  • Answer the questions given by your nominator
  • Write your own questions for your nominees
  • Nominate any bloggers you think deserve this award and let them know!

Tania's Questions:

What TV show are you really into right now?

I haven't really been watching that much tv lately so I'd have to say Made in Chelsea!
What is your summer beauty essential?
I'd usually say mascara but at the moment I've been loving using CC cream and it helps that it usually has quite good SPF too!

Who is your celebrity crush?
Easy - Danny Jones from Mcfly.

What do you class as your biggest blogging achievement so far?
Either reaching 300 followers or to be still blogging after a year of writing my first ever blog post.

What is one of the most embarrassing things you've ever done?
Oh no, erm, there's probably a lot but I can't think of one right now.. Actually, the one that's just come to mind is when I was playing 'tiggy bob down' with some friends when I was about 5 or 6 at play time in school and when I 'bobbed down' I accidentally sat in some dog muck - lovely. I then had to tell the teacher and get changed. How embarrassing I know!

Where would you love to live in the world, if money wasn't a factor?
To be honest I'd probably still live in England, maybe London and get a nice big house/flat!

My Questions:
  1. How long have you been blogging for?
  2. Do you prefer summer or winter?
  3. What do you like to do in your spare time?
  4. What is your dream job?
  5. Favourite item of clothing that you own?
  6. Where would you go on holiday right now if you had the chance to go anywhere?

My nominations are:

My Workwear Wishlist

Since starting my work placement this month I've been loving looking at and wearing work wear clothing. I've picked out a few different things that caught my eye that would be suitable to wear to work (although I didn't realise until after they're mostly monochrome.. ooops!) I particularly like the blazer and trousers here and I think they'd work well together too!

What do you like to wear to work?

Update!...

Seen as I haven't posted anything on my blog all month I thought I'd give you a little explanation as to why I haven't. I've recently started my work placement which is part of my four year course at uni. I started at the beginning of this month and although I'm enjoying every second of it, I'm not having enough time to write or upload any posts for you all (hence why I'm writing this post in my memos on the train home at the moment).

Not only this but I have also had some personal problems going on in my life at the moment (which I won't go into) but I guess I just wanted to let you all know that I'll be back on track with regular posts shortly. I attempted to write some the other day but didn't feel like they were to the standard they could have been so I wanted to wait and post them when they've been written properly. Hopefully I'll find some time this bank holiday weekend to finish writing up and posting some of my saved drafts!

And finally some good news to end on (drum roll please...) It's coming up to my ONE YEAR BLOGGING ANNIVERSARY! So don't forget to look out for a special giveaway soon which should be starting on the 31st August!

July Wishlist - Fitness

I've been looking at a lot of different trainers recently because I want to start running at least a few times a week. So to get myself motivated I thought I'd have a look at some fitness clothing too (although I'm still yet to buy any) and I came up with this months wishlist for you all.

As you may have noticed I am a little bit in love with everything Nike and those trainers will hopefully be purchased very soon, if only I could choose a colour.

My First Birchbox (June 2014)

I know this might be a little late showing you what I received in my June Birchbox but I had been away at uni when it got delivered home so I've only just opened it myself! This is my first ever Birchbox and I was so excited to see what treats I had inside and I wanted to share what I received with you. I've added a little description on the items I have from their website because I haven't had chance to use any of them yet myself but when I do I will let you know how I get on with them and maybe do a couple of reviews for you.

Beauty Blender - Birchbox says, "Eggs are nutritionally good for you for a lot of reasons and this egg-shaped beauty tool is good for your make-up, too! The beautyblender® make-up sponge was created without edges in order to eliminate visible lines and streaks. Use the sides of the sponge to seamlessly apply foundation and blush all over the face, while the pointed tip is great for applying base into small spaces and onto blemishes. This little egg-shaped miracle will leave your make-up base looking flawless. And the solid blendercleanser® soap will leave IT looking flawless."

The Balm How 'Bout them Apples - Birchbox says, "Every single one of these bright easy-to-blend shades can be used on both cheeks and lips – and they won’t streak or fade once applied. The creamy formulas offer long-wearing colour that's buildable – start with a little and layer up for a more dramatic flush. Have your way with six orchard-inspired colours, from a perky Cobbler red to a demure and sophisticated Caramel. Bonus: Inside the palette you'll find images of six rather gorgeous shirtless guys."

Caudalie Vinoperfect SPF15 Day Perfecting Fluid - Birchbox says, "Whether you’re spending the day at the beach or running errands, this multitasking moisturiser will brighten, correct and retexturise the skin. The oil-free formula smooths lines, minimises pores and reduces dark spots, thanks to a concentrate of active ingredients that treat and correct. Say hello to a happier, more radiant complexion."

Naobay Body Radiance Lotion - Birchbox says, "Natural, organic, recyclable, biodegradable - Naobay's philosophy in producing both environmentally friendly and skincare friendly products runs deep through the company with not a stone unturned. This is a lemony fresh organic body lotion with shea butter, olive and avocado oils for truly soft skin."

Birchbox Keyring!

O.P.I Nail Lacquer - Birchbox says, "When it comes to commitment, OPI’s devotion knows no bounds. Since it was founded in 1981, the nail care line has dedicated itself to breaking down barriers, leading the pack in quality, safety, excellence and – of course – innovation. The brand’s adored assortment of nail lacquers, renowned for its top-notch formulas and clever names, has built up quite the faithful global following – including us! Part of OPI's gorgeous spring/summer 2014 Brazil collection, 'Where Did Suzi's Man-go?' is a bright, juicy orange-mango shade that will look a-ma-zing with a tan (here's hoping!)."
