Summer Boots Haul

Getting all of your deposit back from you student house can sometimes be quite a surprise, so I thought I'd treat myself to a nice big order from Boots! Some of these things I've tried before which I've loved and some of these things I've never tried before. I'm hoping to write a lot of reviews and posts on these individually so don't forget to look out for those.

Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub - The best smelling body scrub I've used so far. There may be a review coming soon comparing this body scrub to the one I've been using previously.

St Moriz Instant Self Tan Mousse - This seems to be the most recommended budget fake tan so I'm excited to try this one out. I bought the medium shade however I've seen most the reviews are about the 'dark' shade so I hope this one is just as good for my pale pale skin tone.

Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish in Green with Envy - When I chose this nail polish I didn't actually know which colour I wanted exactly, just a pale colour as I'm use to usually wearing reds or blues but this mint green seems to be perfect.

Revlon Lash Potion Mascara - My current favourite mascara repurchased, there is also a 2 for £10 offer on Revlon products so as this already retails at £9.99 it was like getting the color burst matte balm for just a penny.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - Every blogger's favourite budget concealer, I actually forgot this concealer existed until I realised I only have a highlighting concealer at the minute so I just had to make a repurchase of this beauty.

Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquer in Nude Eclipse - I love the apocalips lip lacquer in 'big bang' which is a bright red so I thought I'd pick up another in a colour I'm not use to, so I'll let you know how this goes too.

Revlon Colour Burst Matte Balm in Elusive - I loved this shade and that it's matte which I thought is so different to any that I already own, I'm excited to try this out so I'll let you know how I get on with this.

Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in Eastend Snob - I'm yet to try out this lip liner properly but the swatch seems like a good formula so I'll let you know what I think.

Radox Berry Burst Shower Gel - I've used this shower gel before and it smells sooo good. It's like all the good smelling fruits in a sweet shower smoothie.

Fleur de Force by Eylure Fleur and Fabulous Lashes - If you know me well or have been reading my blog for a long time you should know that Fleur de Force is my all time favourite blogger and vlogger and the one that really started getting me into wanting to blog myself. When I heard she was working alongside Eylure to produce her own range of eyelashes I just knew I had to get my hands on some, I originally wanted to order the 'Fleur loves' lashes but as they were sold out I opted for the 'Fleur and Fabulous' lashes which are more suited for nights out and occasions which I think I'd be wearing them for mostly anyway.

Also with my Boots order I received a free sample of the Giorgio Armani fragrance Si. I wasn't expecting a free sample as I've never received one from them before and I'm glad I did because I would never have thought about buying or even trying this fragrance but I have to say it actually smells amazing!

Primark Haul - Spring 2015

A couple of weeks ago now I popped into Primark to see their Spring collection. I'd watched a lot of Primark hauls before (and after) going and saw they have so many nice things at the moment. Although in the store I went to it wasn't as good as I'd hoped because it's only a small store in a town, but I did manage to pick up a few things which I liked so I thought I'd share them with you.

This jumper is the first thing I picked up from these and I have to say I think it has to be the cosiest jumper I own. I did buy it in two sizes too big for me, not only because who doesn't love a baggy jumper? But also because it was in the sale for just £3 and it was the smallest size I could find, and I just couldn't leave without it. Next up is this black vest top with a scalloped edge all the way around with the shape of flowers cut out from each 'scallop' shape. I remember when these scallop vests came into fashion quite a few years ago now and I never managed to get my hands on one, then I think they just disappeared, or maybe I've just not seen any around but I really love this style and thought it'd be great for the spring/summer weather. I actually went into Primark looking for this blouse (as well as other things I didn't manage to find) and this is the only colour I could find it in although I was originally after it in white but nevertheless I actually really love this colour, it's a kind of mint green and quite sheer. I like the zip detail on the front and how it could either be worn just as a blouse or with the zip undone and a bandeau or vest underneath. The final item I purchased from Primark was this gorgeous black hand bag. I've been in the need for a hand bag as the one I'm currently using is getting a bit knackered and when I saw that it was just £12 and looked so much more expensive I just had to buy it. I have however since then had to return the bag as there was a problem with the zip, I'm not sure if it's the kind of zip they used with this bag as it was rough and hard to open and close or whether it was just the one I picked up.

Boots 3 for 2 Haul

A week or two ago I managed to finally allow myself to purchase some new make-up and skincare products, I've been trying to only re-purchase products when I run out of them to save a little bit of money recently, and (until this shopping trip) I've been able to stick to it. Plus, it was 3 for 2 on both skincare products AND Revlon products so I just had to buy what I needed, and a little bit more. It was also triple points with your boots card this day so I managed to collect some extra points too which is always fab!

First up is something which I don't usually include into my every day skincare routine, so I thought to make me want to use it even more (because I'm that lazy) that I needed to find a spritz version. After looking for quite a while I managed to find this Botanics Organic Rosewater Toning Spritz, quite a mouthful right? I've tried one other product by the botanics range before, the exfoliating scrub and I got on well with it so I decided to give this a try too. I haven't used it for long but it seems to be doing it's job so far, 

Next up is the Botanics Shine Away Ionic Clay Mask, another Botanics product which I'm new to. Although I have tried a similar mask before by the popular brand, Origins. I've been looking for an alternative and cheaper option and either a charcoal or clay mask so I thought I'd give this a go and so far, so good!

Soap and Glory's The Fab Pore Mask & Peel was featured on a post a wrote in January on products which I'd like to try this year (you can read it here). I then recently Saw a youtuber rave about it so as soon as I realised the skincare products in Boots where on a 3 for 2 offer I rushed to the soap & glory section to pick this up. I've only been using this once a week so far so I'm thinking of doing a full review on it soon!

One of the re-purchases, one of my favourite foundations which is the Revlon Colorstay Foundation. I absolutely love this foundation and I'd say it's maybe even my all-time favourite so far. The last time I had this foundation I decided that I'd use another one for day-to-day wear and this one for if I was going somewhere like I night out or some kind of occasion. However now as I'm out of the house for around 12 hours a day if not longer for five days a week I've found that it does last a lot longer than other foundations which I've tried and is still pretty much intact when I return home.

I also needed a new face powder, although I wasn't planning on spending quite this much on one, I think anything over £10 for a face powder is a lot for what it is but seen as it was 3 for 2 I thought I'd treat myself. And this Revlon Photo Ready Face Powder is definitely worth it, you also get a little brush with it which although I don't use it with this I'm sure it'll come in handy (I use the Real Techniques Powder brush - which is amazing and so soft) and this powder also makes me skin feel so soft and is really good at setting the foundation.

Lastly I decided to purchase the Revlon Lash Potion Mascara, another item that was on my 2015 beauty wishlist post. I love this mascara. I've never tried a Revlon mascara before so I wasn't too sure how it would compare to the previous mascara's I've tried but I really like using it and it makes my eye lashes look so much longer.

MUA Haul and Swatches

So last week I popped into Superdrug to see if they had the much talked about Make-up Revolution Chocolate palette, they didn't and naturally I ended up purchasing five MUA products instead. I mean, what can you do? In my defense I did need a new eyeliner and concealer, and with MUA being such good quality for such a small price - you can't really blame me! I managed to get all of these items for a mere £6!

First up are these two lipsticks which cost only £1 each! And I think they are actually some of my favourites, dare I say it even better than the Rimmel Kate lipsticks? I'd purchased an MUA lipstick a few years ago so I knew they'd be fab, what I wasn't aware of was that they also have matte lipsticks, and when I saw this wintery shade I had to buy it! The two that I purchased above are, Nectar (link here) which I'm looking forward to wearing in the spring/summer and Wild Berry (link here).

So although I did head into Superdrug for an eye-shadow palette, originally, I did actually need to buy a new concealer and eyeliner. When it comes to liquid eyeliner my favourite form to use is in this kind of felt tip/pen, however I usually end up paying around £7 for one at least! This fine tipped "Extreme Felt Eyeliner" was only £2! And look at just how fine the line is, definitely a bargain! This concealer is a new product by MUA (link here) and retails at just £3, when I popped into Superdrug it was however on offer as FREE when you spent at least £6, as I did. This is a highlighting concealer, one that you'd use under your eyes rather than on blemishes and it also has a little bit of glitter in it, which I can't say I'm too keen on but as you can see when it's blended in it's barely noticeable so I'll have to let you know how I get on with this product.

And saving the best until last is this MUA Twelfth Night Eye-Shadow Palette. Although I think I'll still buy the Make-up Revolution Chocolate Palette which I was looking for in Superdrug I think this palette is absolutely gorgeous. There are so many colours to choose from, in this palette the purple and greys stood out the most to me and for the price of this palette you really can not go wrong! Originally £4 now on offer for £2 I think you all need this in your lives.

My favourites to use from this palette so far have been 'Ice', 'Frost' and 'Plum' which I used to create one look. I am looking forward to trying out the more metallic and shimmery shades such as 'Myrrh' and 'Oudh', and for a more neutral day time look 'Fir' and 'Hush' could create a lovely look.

I think 'Hush' could even be used as a highlighter on the brow bone, and although 'Plum' doesn't swatch as brightly as it is shown in the palette I still think it's a lovely colour, especially at this time of the year.

'Oudh', 'Frost' and 'Myrrh' are definitely the three shades to use if you want something brighter and metallic whereas I think 'Fir' and 'Coal' will be used a lot more from day-to-day.

Primark Haul

The past couple of times I've been into Primark I've actually seen quite a few things I like. So, without spending too much (which is easier than it sounds in Primark) I thought I'd treat myself and buy a few bits and pieces.

The first thing that really caught my eye (and was also the reason why I went back) was this blouse which was £9. I've started to have a thing for collars lately and I also really like the neutral colour. I think it can be worn in a work environment as well as being dressed down with some jeans and a jumper.

This top was in the sale for £3 down from £7 which I think is an absolute bargain. I wore this for the first time the other day with leggings, a black string top underneath it and a long cardigan and I was really impressed with it, I can't believe how cheap I managed to get it for.

Lastly are some cute Barbie socks which I really like, (I'm all for fun socks) and this gold and mint green statement necklace. These necklaces also look really good with a nice collar and jumper and I think they can make a whole outfit look so much better.
