Pinterest Post #10 - Hair

Another one of the many things I love pinning in the world of pinterest has to be hairstyles. You can see more on my hair board but I've picked out my top 5 below, as you can probably tell I'm going through a mix of both an ombre and a plait obsession at the minute.

Plaited Hair

I've been wanting to change my hairstyle again for quite a while now and although I've been looking at a few short hairstyles over on pinterest recently, I don't think I'm feeling brave enough to go shoulder length or shorter just yet. I am however thinking of rekindling the ombre look which I've had for over a year before, a year without and now I'm thinking of going back to it, the first image above sells me 100% but I'm pretty sure mine won't be looking that good! Another reason for not wanting to have too short hair right now is that I've been loving plaits lately, although I need to master them myself, they look amazing, I really love fishtail plaits which for some reason I can't get my head around creating just yet, hopefully I will do one day. The Game of Thrones inspired look is also one I'm yet to try but I'm loving watching Game of Thrones at the minute so I thought I'd throw it in there!

What are your favourite hairstyles at the moment?

Blogger's Meet Up

After having a week off uni and spending it at home last week, I have come back to what seems a very busy schedule. This week I've had barely any time to sit down and write a post (staying in uni doing work until midnight last night being one of the reasons).

If you didn't already know (or guessed by the title of this post) I went to a blogger's meet up on Monday evening in Manchester, organised by Georgie a.k.a fairygobmother. It was a wonderful night and I'm very glad I decided to go as I'd never been to one before and any others that I go to now have a very good standard to beat!

The atmosphere was lovely, upstairs in a small bar I got to meet many new blogger's who I wasn't aware of before, as well as the one's who write some of the blogs I love to read. Throughout the evening we played some games of a mini 'play your cards right', got to know each other whilst having a few drinks and also took part in a raffle where the money went to a local animal charity. Georgie also organised a magician to come to the meet up (you can find him here). I still can't work out how some of the things he did were even possible but it was amazing nevertheless!

As the event came to an end we were all also given a goody bag! This was filled with so many lovely things such as the Lush products above, Diptyque body lotion and shampoo, Schwarzkopf hair spray and another bag of samples from many different brands.

Thank you again to Georgie for organising such an amazing event, I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend that any of you go to a blogger's meet up if you can!

Product Empties

This is the first time I've done a 'Product Empties' post, usually I either switch between so many products that I don't often empty many (hence my current ten body butters/lotions) or just throw the odd few that I do get away. So, for the past month or so I've managed to use up a few products and saved them until I had enough to show you.

Rimmel Match Perfection concealer - This is one of my favourite concealers, although I don't use this for blemishes as it also works as a highlighter and those aren't the areas you want to draw attention to. It is however really good under the eyes for example.

Rimmel 'Scandaleyes' mascara - This is one of the older products from my empties and I have used a couple of others since I last used this one. I wouldn't say it was my favourite mascara but I think it could be compared to the Maybelline Colossal Mascara (which I reviewed here).

I really like both of these foundations although they are quite different. The Wake Me Up Foundation looks a lot better worn in the summer because the shades are slightly darker for when you've been out in the sun, and it also has a shimmer to it which I actually like! The Match Perfect Foundation is however more of an all round good foundation, one which would probably work well for you if you are just starting to get into make-up and are looking for a good foundation too.

The Soap and Glory Sugar Crush body scrub is my absolute all time favourite body scrub! The smell is amazing and it does a really good job at leaving your skin feeling smooth.Instead of repurchasing this one however I have decided to try something a little different which if you check back here regularly, there should be a review up on my new Gadi body scrub.

These two products I have already re-purchased - I love them that much! The L'Oreal Micellar Solution I use to take off my make-up which you can find my review on here. This Vo5 shampoo is quite possibly my favourite shampoo, just lately I've been trying out a few different shampoos to see which works best for me (I'm currently using a herbal essences one) and I've decided to re-purchase this one, being my current favourite!

Let me know if you enjoy reading product empties posts because I've never posted one before.

2014 and Wish List: THE SALES!!!

I found this on pinterest (here) and thought it was a great thought to start the new year with!

I hope you all had a good time celebrating the new year last night/today, Happy New Year to all of you lovely readers! Yesterday it made it 4 months since I had written and posted my first blog post and I can't believe how well my blog has done, getting nearer and nearer to my first milestone now.. 100 followers! That itself gives me so much motivation to continue to post regularly (when I'm back at uni it does get a lot harder) but I'm going to try and post at least twice a week. Another resolution, or more of an aim is to get myself a part-time job this year so that I will be a lot better off financially. But, I can only TRY with this because I've been applying and going to job interviews for a while and I still don't have one so we'll see and hopefully it'll happen very soon!

Anyway, on with what this post was originally aimed at.. my wish list of the sales!

5. Miss Selfridge top £15.00
7. No.7 Mirror £15.99

Do you have any new years resolutions? What's on your wish list?

November Favourites

It's unbelievable how fast this month has gone already. Less than two weeks until Christmas? So here's another late monthly favourites which was again planned to be posted at the beginning of this month! Hopefully there'll be a lot more time for blogging in the Chrsitmas holidays, so here's my November favourites...

First up is Batiste dry shampoo, it's always great to freshen up your hair between washes and I've found this 'scent' is the best of their collection that I've used so far!

My favourite cleanser at the minute (even now through December) has to be this Visibly Clear blackhead eliminating SOS Cleanser by Neutrogena. What a mouthful that is! It leaves your face feeling ultra smooth and also smells really nice too.

Now this product most of you probably wouldn't have heard of before (because it's from the 'kids' section of Avon) but nevertheless it smells amazing and I'm starting to get to the end of the bottle *sad face*.

One of my favourite lipsticks to wear this Autumn/Winter has been the Rimmel London Kate Lipsticks (shade 107 is great for this time of year but I also really like shade 111).

A non-beauty favourite of mine recently has been the FX Magazines which are perfect for me and include so many great designs which is of course great when you're studying Interior Design too!

October Favourites

I've been meaning to write this post for a while now but here it is at last, my October favourites! Here are some of the things that I've been loving in the past month, (how fast are these months passing by?!)
So here it is...

The photography in this post has been done by Saida from http://saidacanephotography.blogspot.co.uk/ (who has a giveaway over on her blog at the minute) so go and check it out!

L'oreal Paris Nude Magique Eau De Teint - £9.99 from Boots, you can also read more about this foundation from my review here.

L'oreal Nutri-Gloss Light Shampoo - £2.99 from Boots and it smells so good!

Clean and Clear Exfoliating Daily Wash - £1.99 from Boots and I love that it's oil free too!

I've been using this air freshener for quite a while now because I love Christmas and it smells so nice! Mulled Wine and Cinnamon apple is the perfect scent to get you in the festive mood, you can get it from shops on the high street such as Wilkinson's and Supermarkets.

Impulse Temptation body spray - £1.99 from Boots. I think has to be one of my favourites from the impulse body sprays. It states that it's 'new' although I remember having this one years and years ago with a slightly different design so maybe they've brought it back (that's if it ever left) because it smells so nice!

Now this little sample is amazing! It's from Lush Cosmetics and I had it sent to me when I'd ordered a face mask from them. It's the 'Let the good times roll' cleanser available here (100g £6.35). I wasn't expecting this at all in its tiny packaging and because it's so small I thought I'd only be getting one use out of it but I was wrong. You only need a tiny bit of this cleanser and it goes a long way, I think I might have to purchase the full size after trying this out, maybe that's why they sneakily sent me it!

Quick Update

Hi guys!

Just a quick update for some posts that will be coming soon because I've been soooo busy with uni and everything lately.

One review that I'm excited to do for you is for the new "L'Oreal Paris Nude Magique" foundation which I cheekily bought myself today. Another review which I've been meaning to do is for the "Maybelline Colossal" mascara and also "The body shop rain forest hair mask" so that's a lot of testing things out for me!

Hope you all have a great weekend
