Review: Myleene Klass Lipstick Trio

When I think of lipsticks or makeup in general a brand that doesn't usually come to mind is Myleene Klass. That is until I received these last Christmas! With a trio of 3 different shades and a lovely black and gold packaging, it's hard not to like these lipsticks just for that reason.

The three different shades are; Frida, which is a lovely orange shade which I probably get more wear out of in the Spring and Summer. Hedy is like a bubblegum pink, not something I would have usually picked out for myself but I actually really like it. And last but not least is my favourite of the three shades, Rosa. Rosa is a gorgeous red (my favourite kind of lipstick) and something I think you can get away with wearing all year round, day or night.

The staying power of these lipsticks are also really quite good too. When applying a red lip liner before gliding Rosa onto my lips, the lipstick really does stay on well - even when you're having a few drinks! The only down-side to these lipsticks is that I just can't find them anywhere online at the moment, they were originally purchased from Littlewoods so keep checking there around Christmas if you'd like to get some of these too.

Born Pretty Store Lipstick Review

If you've seen some of my most recent blog posts you'll know that I've been obsessing over lip products lately. From lip liners and balms to lipsticks my most recent lip product to talk about is this rhombus shaped expert color lipstick by Born Pretty Store* in shade #108, available here.

I wasn't sure when I received this lipstick if the shade was going to be too bright for me and to not suit my pale skin tone. However I really like this shade, although the photo shows a bright orange colour it isn't anyway near that bright maybe you could build it up to that with a few more layers but I actually prefer the way it did show up on my lips. When applying this lipstick with the rhombus shape was at first quite odd but it still does the job and gives it a different look to your ordinary lipstick. The formula is also great, it's quite creamy and soft and although you need to top it up throughout the day I'm really enjoying wearing this shade at the moment. Even if it isn't the usual shade I'd go for during autumn.

Rimmel London Exaggerate Lip Liner Review

One make-up item which I think I need more of in my collection has to be lip liners. I have thin lips which I think lip liners make look a lot more fuller than just using a lipstick, although I still often forget to use them. So one of my latest beauty purchases has been this Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in 'Eastend snob' which was only £3.99.

Firstly, the shade of this lip liner is absolutely amazing. I think it has to be one of my favourite lip products just due to the shade, if you know any lip sticks which are similar to this please let me know because I've even been wearing this on its own without a lipstick on top because I'm that obsessed with this shade. I loved the shape of the end of this lip liner because I haven't seen any like that before they're usually just pointed. Although now that I've used this product quite a few times the shape has been lost, especially because it's not one you can sharpen, but nevertheless it's still a good product.

The shade on the lips is very true to what you see in the packaging and it does have a great staying power although I find it does get quite drying over a long period of time. These Rose pink shades are my favourite at the moment now that we're into autumn, but I'm still loving the darker shades too which I'm looking forward to wearing more of in the winter months. For just £3.99 I think I'll definitely have to purchase a few more of these lip liners from their wide range of shades.

Revlon Colour Burst Matte Balm Review

Revlon are a brand which I never use to think of much but now I've realised just how good their products are and they are creeping into my daily makeup routine. From foundation and powder to mascara this is now my first lip product by Revlon and it was definitely a good choice! I purchased the Revlon Color Burst Matte Balm from Boots, here for £7.99, although Boots are currently still doing their 2 for £10 on Revlon products which means you can get some real bargains.

 The shade is 'Elusive' which is a lovely light rose pink colour, a shade I don't usually go for. I have to say I don't own too many pink lip products but this one has definitely made me want to try out more because I was surprised at by how much it suits my pale skin tone. I was also surprised by the minty scent this balm has, I wasn't sure about this at first but I think it's definitely grown on me, I'm much more use to the ordinary lip stick scent.

I like how Revlon have also made the packaging matte to match the formula, and they've done a good job of getting the colour of the packaging to an almost exact match to the product shade which I don't think we get to see too often. It makes it much easier to find amongst a drawer of lip products too rather than the lipsticks which all have the same colour packaging. Another thing I love about this lip product is the twist up part, I prefer this so much more to having to sharpen the end, although this gets you a pointed end I think this is much easier for on the go too. I'm looking forward to trying more from this range, they're so easy to apply and they've got so many colour options some that aren't matte too.

MUA Lipstick in Shade #13

When I first heard about the brand MUA I wasn't sure whether to try their products or not until I was persuaded by one of my friends. At first I thought because I hadn't heard too much about them and because most of their products cost only £1 that the quality wouldn't be very good, but I was wrong.

I also own a blusher and bronzer from MUA but my favourite of their collection so far has to be this lipstick. I remember seeing a couple of reviews on this little beauty back when I first started blogging at the end of the summer, I kept going back to Superdrug to buy it but because it was never in I ended up ordering it online. A bonus to this lipstick which you don't see on many is the little pot at the bottom which is a lip gloss! I don't tend to use this myself but I think that's because I forget it's there and because the lipstick already looks great as it is.

Here is a swatch of the lipstick. It's a lovely red-orange and is wearable all times of the year. In the summer the sun seems to pick out these orange tones more and it's still a nice acceptable red to wear in the autumn/winter too. It's shade 13 from the collection and available from Superdrug, here although it seems to be out of stock at the moment or discontinued which I really hope it isn't!

And here it is on. I really like it and think it's one of my favourite lipsticks. Especially when it is only £1, I can't wait to try out some of their other shades.
